Slate coasters are cut from real stone, and the reason people choose them is the edge: split rather than sawn, so no two are identical and the face carries the natural texture of the rock. Set on a bar, they read as material rather than merchandise, which is exactly the effect a good whiskey list or a farm-to-table room is going for.

Laser etching cuts a pale, permanent mark into the dark stone, giving very high contrast with no ink involved at all. Logos, monograms, coordinates and short lines of text all etch cleanly. Because there is no coating, there is nothing to peel, fade or wash off — the mark is the stone itself.

Every coaster is fitted with felt pads on the underside so the stone never scratches a bar top, and the surface is sealed lightly to resist staining from red wine and dark spirits. Standard squares and rounds are stocked; irregular natural-edge shapes are available where you want the raw look pushed further.
